POA (pdf file)

Western Data & Telephone Co. does network processors, appliances, transducers, User authentication, data security and security Processors, i.e. how to frame, secure and authenticate Data and users on the network.
Extensive use of multi processor, multi threaded design allows us to achieve higher degrees of security than that offered by competing designs.

We have the know how and experience for the design of interfaces to image appliances, voice appliances and gateways, by framing the data with UDP and TCP IP protocols for use in client server applications and IP based media networks.
We have developed unique concepts in multi threaded Memory designs for high throughput network parallel Processors.

The most frequent daily activities of the Post Office are weighting mail, bar coding, accepting customer payment and other financial transactions relating to pension, saving accounts and money orders.
In this paper, we introduce the G1000 platform for the postal applications.
The following describes the hardware and software architecture of the G1000 platform, which provides service to clients as well as automated payment method (using smart cards).
This system supports postal package acceptance, weighing, identification and tracking and provides automated cash withdrawal and account debiting mechanism.
The system also provides paid electronic advertising space i.e. a source of additional Postal income.

:: Introduction:

The modern postal system as we know it today in Egypt was developed by Viceroy Mohammed Ali Pasha (1805-48).
The service was primarily for the use of the state enabling the central government to remain informed of daily developments all across the pasha's expanding realm.
Today the Central Post Office and other main branches are often extremely crowded.
Parcels, registered mail, and surface mail are distributed and sent abroad from the Ramses Square Central Operating Unit, where unsealed packages must be inspected by customs before weighing and sealing.
The Post Office provides several services in a single organization. Providing a transfer tool for packages and letters as well as some banking services.
Sending letters or parcels through the post service requires measuring its weight using electronic scales, bar code readers, printers, and payment systems.
The G1000 platform automates all of these processes and uses smart cards as a payment system.
:: The G1050 Computer:
The G1050 computer is a single board computer (SBC) that can be connected to an electronic scale, bar code scanner, bar code printer, and smart card reader. The G1050 SBC is a 166 MHz CPU with 128 Mb RAM, RS232/RS485 connection, two USB ports, and a built in Ethernet card.
The SBC is equipped with digital I/O that is capable of performing security shut off process for the safe if a break in is detected.
The electronic scale, on the other hand, is connected to the SBC via RS232 port.
The device is accurate, easy to use, easy to maintain designed with a load cell, microcomputer and high-resolution analog to digital converter, ADC.

:: Bar Coding:
The Wasp Bar Code CCD Scanner [3] simply plugs between your keyboard and SBC. As scanned data appears on screen, the Wasp Bar Code CCD Scanner allows scanning into the G1000 Windows application.
The G1000 automates the data collection tasks with this the one-touch scanner shown in Figure 1. Advanced options for preamble and post amble additions are standard with this reliable device.
Figure 2 shows the bar code scanner connected along with the keyboard to the SBC.
